Described as the most beautiful archipelago in the world, it offers great kayaking opportunities in an ever-changing landscape of large outcrops, sheltered rocky hills, vibrant island villages and thousands of islands. Our self-guided kayaking tours are suitable for the independent kayaker or small private groups with previous kayaking experience and the necessary safety skills. The Archipelago Sea National Park offers you an amazing kayaking experience and we will make sure your trip goes smoothly.

 

In two-day self-guided kayaking tour you spend two days and one night kayaking in the Archipelago Sea National Park. The package includes all the necessary kayaking and camping equipment.

 

The price includes:
* A high quality sea kayak single (skeg or rudder) and other kayaking equipment (paddle, spray skirt, paddling vest).

* Map and compass. Our waterproof map contains information about the national park, campsites, island services, water points, cafés and landing places.

* Safety equipment (compass, pump, spare paddle)

* camping stove package (camping stove, 1 gas bottle, cooking utensils, cutlery)

* Water reservoir

* Dry bags for equipment

* Waterproof mobile phone pouch

* Tent (a high quality windproof 2 person tent)

* Suggested itinerary for your trip by our sea kayaking guide.

*Telephone support during your trip, for example in case of changing weather conditions. Instructions and assistance in case of emergencies

 

Not included in the price:

Food and personal clothing are not included. We also recommend you bring your own sleeping bag, sleeping bag sheet and camping mattress, but you can also rent these from us at an additional cost.

 

At extra cost:

* Accommodation equipment package (sleeping bag, sleeping bag sheet, sleeping pad), price 25€ / person per night.

* Safety course for sea kayaking 3-4 hours, price 90€ / person. The course is organised at the beginning of the excursion.

* Additional gas bottle (450g) 10€

* Starting the trip from a different island (e.g. Nauvo, Nötö, Aspö) and kayak transport 40€ / kayak

* Ending the trip on a different island (e.g. Nauvo, Nötö, Aspö) and kayak transport 40€ / kayak

 

Take with you: Weather-appropriate kayaking/outdoor clothes, a change of clothes, a water bottle, a mobile phone, sleeping gear and food.

 

Sample itinerary for a two-day self-guided sea kayaking expedition in the Archipelago Sea National Park:

 

Day one:
Korpoström Archipelago Centre - Konungsskär / Stora Hästö, 8 - 15 km depending on the chosen route

 

Meeting at the Korpoström Archipelago Centre (or pick-up from village/hotel by arrangement).  Archipelago Centre  is located in the middle of stunning scenery right on the corner of the National Park and within a day's kayaking distance you will find several beautiful desert islands, island villages, campsites and a open wilderness cottage. We can take you to the food shop before your kayaking tour. It is also possible to dine at the Archipelago Centre. Our kayaking guide will work with you to make a preliminary plan for your kayaking trip, taking into account your wishes, skill level and weather conditions. We will share with you the sheltered kayaking routes, camping spots and other information you need. We'll help you adjust and pack your kayak and make sure you have everything you need for your trip. If you have a bag/backpack that you don't want to take with you, we'll store it for the duration of your trip.

 

A day of kayaking on the route of your choice in the Archipelago Sea National Park. Depending on the weather conditions and your kayaking experience, you can choose from several routes, kayak further out to enjoy the open sea or stay and enjoy the shelter of the bigger islands and inner archipelago. In the evening, camp on the natural island of your choice and spend the night in a tent.

 

Day two:
Konungsskär / Stora Hästö - Korpoström Island Centre, 8 -15 km depending on route chosen

 

A day of kayaking on the route of your choice in the Archipelago Sea National Park. Depending on the weather conditions and your paddling experience, you can choose from several routes, kayak further out to enjoy the open sea or stay and enjoy the shelter of the bigger islands and inner archipelago. Ending the trip in Korpoström for the evening. If you wish, you can stay overnight at Korpoström archipelago hotel/other accommodation or continue by bus to Turku.

 

Kayaking equipment: Our fleet includes SeaBirds Expedition, Scott, Zegul Arrow Play and Rebel sea kayaks, which are highly reliable kayaks designed for sea conditions. We help you to choose the right kayak for you.

 

Suitability of the trip: To ensure your safety, the group must include at least one experienced kayaker with the necessary rescue and navigation skills. If you are going to kayak alone and are unsure of your skills, we recommend for you before your trip a 3-hour intensive course on the safety of sea kayaking for an extra charge. This ensures a pleasant and safe kayaking trip. The course will take place according to your wishes before the trip.

Overnight in Korppoo: Before or after your trip you can stay overnight in Korppoo. Archipelago centre Korpoström has hotel rooms and Rumar Strand cottages and a campsite.
