Come and enjoy the beauty of the outer archipelago on a six-day kayak trip in the Archipelago Sea at Brändö, Åland.

Brando - a paradise of thousands of islands where history meets nature. This unique island landscape offers unforgettable experiences for both the adventurous and those seeking peace and quiet. Paddling allows you to explore rugged islets and diverse islands, soak up the atmosphere of island culture and marvel at the ever-changing seascape.

This six-day sea kayaking expedition is suitable for paddlers of all levels who want to spend a longer time paddling in the outer archipelago with a local paddling guide. Our trip heads north from the Houtskär Hyppeis and on to the Åland side of Brändö municipality. Along the way we will enjoy a wide variety of wildlife and seascapes, heart-pounding paddling and overnight stays on stunning islands.

The starting and finishing point is the village of Hyppeis in the outer Houtskar archipelago, where we are already in the middle of some great seascapes and just a couple of days' paddle from Brändö.

Itinerary:

Åland Brändö Tour - 6 pv

Houtskär (Hyppeis) - Äpplö - Torsholma - Brändö - Lappo - Asterholma - Houtskär.

Starting point: Hotel Hyppeis. Address: Hyppeistentie 540, 21760 Houtskari. Hyppeis can be reached from the mainland by car via three road ferries. We will give you more detailed arrival instructions before the trip, allow about 4 hours travelling time from Turku in each direction. We will meet on Thursday at 14:00 in Hyppeis and finish the kayak trip on Tuesday at the same place at 15:00 at the latest.

Suitability of the trip: This trip is suitable for you if you already have experience in canoeing and basic sea kayaking and camping skills. We will paddle at a normal paddling pace, day trips of about 20 km. During the trip, everyone will prepare their own food and we will sleep in tents. The trip is of medium level. If you are not sure if the trip is suitable for you, ask!

Price:  490 € / person. Students and unemployed 20€ discount (Prices incl. VAT)

The price includes: Guide, instruction, sea kayak and kayaking equipment, safety equipment, tent fees and sauna fees.

Not included in the price: Hiking food, camping equipment, insurance.

Take with you: Weather-appropriate equipment, food and snacks, cooking utensils, a change of clothes and your own tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad. You will receive a more detailed list of the equipment you need by email (we also offer the possibility to rent a small amount of camping equipment).

Kayaking equipment: We paddle SeaBirds Scott and Expedition and Design Kayaks sea kayaks, which are highly reliable kayaks designed for sea conditions. We have a kayak to suit all levels and sizes of paddlers

Preliminary route plan: Houtkär (Hyppeis) - Äpplö - Nåtö - Torsholma - Brändö - Korsö - (Fiskö -) Björkö - Lappo - Asterholma - Houtskär.

This is an indicative route plan. The final itinerary will depend on weather, conditions and the group. Route changes are possible and some islands may have to be skipped if conditions, group safety or other reasons dictate. The daily distances are approximately 20 km. The total length of the trip is approximately 100 km.

Depending on the final itinerary, it is possible to eat at local restaurants and cafés 2-3 times and take a sauna at least once during the trip.
