Safety course for sea kayaking is an intensive course focusing on kayaking safety and kayak handling. If you are planning to do a self-drive trip, rent a kayak and go paddling we recommend this intensive course for you. Please note that this is an intensive course, covering a lot of ground in a short time.

 

Course content:

*Forward kayaking basics

*Basics of kayak handling, tilting and steering

*Solo rescue (1 way)

*Pair rescue (1 way)

*Fundamentals of taking support from water

*Considering the weather forecast, wind and waves when paddling

*Basics of making a rescue plan

*The most important first aid skills for paddlers

 

The course will take place in a field trip setting on the island of Korppo.

 

The price includes: training, sea kayak and other paddling equipment. This price only in case of self guided tour, rental or other excursion (Price without tour/rental 135€ / person, min. 2 persons).

 

Trainer: Gabriel Sydänvirta. Paddling instructor for the Finnish Sea Paddling Association and the Finnish Paddling and Rowing Federation.

 

Take with you: Weather-appropriate clothing and a change of clothes.
