Paddling Academy is the local sea kayaking tour operator in the Archipelago Sea. We operate in the heart of the Archipelago Sea. Most of our tours start from Korpoström Archipelago Centre in Korppoo, where you can also rent sea kayaks. For longer kayaking tours, the starting point is the island of Nötö. With us you can enjoy the enchanting beauty of the Archipelago Sea even on short trips.
There are more islands in the Archipelago Sea than anywhere else in the world. It has been described as the most beautiful archipelago in the world. The landscape varies from wide open expanses, to village landscapes on the larger islands, to windswept rocky coves.

KORPPOO (Korpo)
Korppoo is a large island, located in the middle of Archipelago Sea about 80 kilometres from Turku. Korppoo is a vibrant and cultural island with a wide range of services and an active arts and culture community.
Our base camp and main partner in Korppoo is Korpoström Archipelago Centre. Archipelago Centre is located by the sea on the southern edge of Korppoo, right on the corner of the Archipelago Sea National Park. Most of Paddling Academy's tours and trainings are done from here. You can easily get to Korpostrom by bus or by car.
Archipelago Sea of Finland allows kayaking in the shelter of islands, between islets and in small coves, so that kayaking is possible even in strong winds and waves. On the other hand, the wide open sea as well as the more distant islands, are also very close by. One day kayaking will take you to many of the pearls of the Archipelago Sea.
Korppoo covers an area of about 1544 km², of which only 169 km² is land. Korppoo has about 2 000 islands and islets and a year-round population of about 800. The nature of the Korppoo archipelago is very diverse and varied. There are typical forested inter-island nature with meadows and fields, as well as rocky coves, glacier-formed bays and a mosaic of small islands typical for the outer archipelago. Sea eagles, swans and seals all live around Korppoo.

You can get to and from Korppoo och Korpoström by the public bus 901-904 from Turku (Åbo).

On the way from Turku to Korppoo there are two road ferries, which are free of charge for the user. The ferries run approximately every 15 minutes. There is a big parking area on the left side of the road approx. 100 meters before the beach. You can pay for parking with the Easypark and Parkman apps or with coins. Parking prices 2h = €1.50, 6h = €3.00, 24h = €6.00, 1 week = €30. See the exact location . here.

Before and after your kayaking tour in Korppoo
- Moving Heart offers a variety of sports and wellness activities in Korppoo and Korpoström Archipelago Centre. For example, you can book a mindful nature walk or a private yoga class. These services can be combined with a kayaking trip if you wish.

Nötö and Aspö
The islands of Nötö and Aspö are located in the outer archipelago, in the middle of the Archipelago National Park 20 km from Korppoo. Many of our longer kayking tours start from Nötö. The neighbour island of Aspö is an interesting place to visit on kayaktour and a possible daytour destination for private groups.
Around Nötö and Aspö there is wide open sea and numerous rocky islands. Within one day kayaking distance you can find most of the pearls of the Archipelago Sea, such as Björkö, Jurmo, Aspö and Berghamn islands.

Travel directions to Nötö and Aspö
Nötö and Aspö are located in the middle of the Archipelago Sea National Park, about 20 km south of Nauvo and Korppoo. The islands can be reached by MS Utö connecting ferry. MS Utö departs from Nauvo´s Pärnäs (Pärnäinen). The sea voyage to Nötö takes about two hours, to Aspö half an hour longer and is free of charge.
Pärnäs (Pärnäinen) can be reached from Turku with the archipelago bus 901-904. Pärnäs harbour can also be reached by car along the Archipelago road. Please take at least 2.5 hours for the car journey from Turku, as ferries between the islands can cause delays. There is free parking for cars in the harbour.
